This eco-friendly roofing method primarily uses water reeds, which are valued for their durability and insulating properties. The cut and prepared reeds are bundled together and then secured to the roof structure, which should have a slope of at least 35 degrees. A 30 cm thick layer of reed, properly and efficiently applied, provides strong waterproofing and guarantees thermal and acoustic insulation.
Although reed roofs are environmentally friendly and visually appealing, many people have questions about fire, as these roofs are considered to be less resistant to fire. Modern reed roofs are often impregnated with special materials, which increases their safety.
